How to Make Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs

Having a hard-boiled egg for breakfast can make you healthier and feel full longer. If you want to start your day with this healthy breakfast, you must know how to boil eggs appropriately. Boiling eggs seems simple. However, it is not as simple as it is. To get firm whites and creamy yolk, you need to boil them properly. If you boil the eggs for too long, you can end up having rubbery whites and green yolks. If you often have those problems, you can follow the steps below to get perfect hard-boiled eggs.

How to make perfect hard-boiled eggs

– Put the eggs in a pot or saucepan and add enough water in it. Be sure to have the water cover the eggs.

– Heat the pot until the pot until the water reach rolling boil temperature. Use high heat to boil the water.

– Remove the pot once you get rolling boil water. Cover the pot with the lid.

– Let the eggs submerge in the hot water for 14 to 17 minutes. It depends on the size of the eggs.

– Drain the eggs and place them in a bowl which is filled with ice water. This will cool down the eggs. In addition, it will help you avoid having green yolks.

If you plan to peel the eggs immediately for your salad, you must slightly crack them before putting in the ice water. Fresh eggs are usually more difficult to peel. If you plan to boil some eggs, you had better choose ones that are already in your fridge for at least a week. If you only have fresh eggs, you can add 1 tbsp of salt and ¼ cup of distilled white vinegar in the water. This mix will help you peel the eggs easier. Hard-boiled eggs can last for a week if you store it in a fridge.
